This roundtable is designed as a structured, outcome-oriented working session addressed to the stakeholders, within the Elife project.  Discussions will draw upon:

  • EU project outputs as practical tools and examples — including bycatch mitigation measures, good handling and release practices, fisheries interaction data, governance instruments, and local management approaches; and
  • the regional policy framework, notably the updated SPA/RAC Draft Action Plan for the Conservation of Cartilaginous Fishes (Chondrichthyans) in the Mediterranean, 2025–2030, together with relevant regional processes such as those of the GFCM.

The meeting will feature four parallel roundtable discussions, each aligned with priority themes for elasmobranch conservation and management in the Mediterranean. The format is intended to foster expert dialogue and support the development of clear, actionable outputs.
